Cathay Pacific launches new sustainability initiative Join For Trees
- Written by Business Daily Media
In light of World Environment Day on June 5, Cathay Pacific has announced a new initiative as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, Join for Trees.
From June 1 - 30 2022, Cathay Pacific will plant a tree through onetreeplanted.org in Australia or New Zealand for every customer who signs up to join Asia Miles.
Why trees? Planting trees helps to reduce the effects of climate change. Trees clean the air we breathe; filter the water we drink and provide habitat to most of our world's wildlife species.
Asia Miles is Asia’s leading travel and lifestyle rewards program where members can earn and burn Asia Miles for flying, international hotel bookings, and more. Asia Miles members also have an option to use their Miles to contribute to Fly Greener, Cathay Pacific’s carbon offsetting scheme.
As Cathay Pacific progresses towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, sustainability remains its long-term commitment to future generations. See here for more about Cathay Pacific’s sustainability commitments.
