I’m Alex Pagan based out of Bangkok Thailand and here is my guide for the best places to cycle in Thailand. Having previous lived in Miami, I am no stranger to the sun or the heat, so I have put together a short guide for people living or heading to Thailand in the hope of enjoying some great rides!

Here are my top 5 picks.

1. Prachuap Khiri Khan

One of my personal favourite national parks in Thailand to ride is Khao Sam Roi Yot. Its situated south of the well-known holiday resort and retirement town of Hua Hin and this national park literally translates as the mountain of 300 peaks! If you are looking for hilly ride this is the place for you, however if you prefer an easier ride, you can travel down the quite beach roads on the low ground. The scenery as you can imagine is epic and is a mixture of limestone cliffs and tropical beach.

2. Bangkok, Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand offers some great riding if you can get yourself out of the congested inner-city areas, so either take your bike in a large taxi or hire from one of the many shops near the places you are going. There are several great routes for you to check out including:

• * Lumpini Park - 2.km loop

• * Happy & Healthy Bike Lane - 23.5km

• * Ko Kret - Explore the whole island

• * Benjakitti Park - 2km
  Bang Kachao - 12,000 rai of land to explore

3. Khao Lak in Phang Nga Province

Phang Nga Province can be found in Southern Thailand on the west side of the Malay Peninsula and includes several internationally known islands such as James Bond Island. Khao Lak is worlds different to Bangkok, so prepare yourself for quiet country roads and beautiful coastline.

We recommend starting the ride by cycling over Sarasin bridge which connects Phuket to the rest of Thailand. It’s an epic experience which then proceeds to take you through to some quiet country roads until you reach Thai Mueang. A picturesque section of coastline where beach meets rich tropical jungle and waterfalls. If you like getting out of the city, I would highly recommend checking out this area.

4. Kanchanaburi Province

This wonderful province is most famous for the Bridge over the River Kwai and Hellfire Pass that was built by prisoners of war during World War 2. In cycle terms, this province is more suited to mountain bikers as a lot of the great places to ride will be trails and rugged rural roads. Those keen to climb the forested hills will be rewarded with epic provincial views.
