TCL's Dongsheng Li Calls on Entrepreneurs to Accelerate Global Economic Recovery at 2023 Summer Davos Forum

  • Written by: PR Newswire

TIANJIN, China, June 30, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Dongsheng Li, Founder and Chairman of TCL, delivered his insights into and TCL's corporate approach towards globalization, sustainable growth, green strategies and more at the World Economic Forum's 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as "2023 Summer Davos Forum", in Tianjin, China from June 27 to 29.

"Global operation is becoming the main channel for enterprises to connect to the world. Their transition towards globalization will accelerate economic recovery," said Li in his keynote speech at "Nightcap with TCL" on June 28 during 2023 Summer Davos. "Companies should implement new models of globalization and strive for sustainable development by embracing new changes and challenges in the global economic landscape."

As a representative of the tech manufacturing industry, Li participated in several public and private sessions during the three-day event. Notably, he met with Klaus Schwab, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, and attended a roundtable discussion on Asia's manufacturing resurgence. During the session, Li highlighted the global context and role of manufacturing, technological innovation, sustainable growth, and global partnership.

"Successful globalization lies in localization," Li stated, "Over the past 24 years, TCL has walked a path of globalization and transformation from exporting products to industrial capacity. Our experience has shown that promoting localization empowers local manufacturing capabilities and contributes to local economies and societies, which will in turn fuel sustainable growth for companies and globalization that benefits all of humanity."

As a global technology company, TCL pays close attention to its impact on the environment throughout the process of globalization. In a roundtable titled "Restoring the Natural Ecosystem", Yuki Wei, Vice President of TCL Technology and Chairman of the TCL Charity Foundation, shared, "With a dedication to sustainable development and environmental protection, TCL has been actively participating in ecological restoration through innovative technologies, green product design, and sustainable resource management."

This year's Summer Davos was held under the theme of "Entrepreneurship: The Driving Force of the Global Economy". Amidst global economic revival, enterprises play a key part in economic growth. Entrepreneurs should therefore actively lead the world economy into a more equal, sustainable, and resilient future. In line with the theme, Li also authored an article titled "Entrepreneurial Resilience Gives New Impetus to the World Economy", on the WEF website, elaborating on the importance of globalization, sustainable growth, and an entrepreneurship spirit in revitalizing the world economy.

"An entrepreneurship spirit holds the key to preventing deglobalization, rejuvenating the global economy and achieving win-win partnerships," said Li. "The pandemic affected every enterprise in the world, and the only way out is global cooperation. Entrepreneurs must blaze a trail in the face of uncertainty which has certainly become a new norm."
