Elsight wins strategic Israeli Police and government tender

  • Written by Business Daily Media

Global leader in drone connectivity solutions Elsight (ASX:ELS) has won a strategic multi-year public tender to supply the Israeli Police and other government departments with solutions for Communication On-The-Move (COTM).

The tender makes Halo’s industry leading connection confidence available to units such as the Israeli Border Patrol, Israeli Police Drone Unit, Israel Police K9 unit and Israeli Police SWAT Team.

Award after extensive testing in the field, the tender is expected to lead to an increase in the number of Halo units ordered each year by Israeli Police, as well as new orders with other departments under Israel’s Ministry of National Security. These include the Israeli National Prison Authority, the Israeli National Fire and Rescue Authority and Police Special Forces.  The tender is for one year with a four-year extension period.

The news represents the latest show of confidence in Elsight’s Halo connectivity platform for BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone operations.

Elsight already has numerous high-profile customers in the US, Europe, South America, the Middle East and Asia.

They include leading delivery companies DroneUp, which is used by retail giant Walmart in its expanding drone service, and SpeedBird Aero in Brazil.

Halo has also been chosen by major infrastructure inspection and cargo company MissionGo!, as well Spright, the drone division of leading US medical services company Air Methods.

Air Methods is the preferred partner for US hospitals and one of the largest community-based providers of air medical services. It set up Spright to service some of the most vulnerable communities in the US.

In Israel Elsight has been working with the Police since 2017, with various units within the Israeli Police using the Halo for audio, video and data transmission on tactical missions and ongoing security missions.

In 2022, the Israeli Police ordered and implemented the use of dozens of Halo units by forces in the field, with that number now expected to grow significantly in 2023, 2024 and beyond.

Elsight CEO Yoav Amitai commented:

“Winning this public tender over the competition and after years of successful collaboration is something we are very proud of.

“The connection between Elsight and the Israeli Police is a strong one, and this tender will allow the connection to grow even stronger.

“We look forward to working with our current partners within the various units of the Israeli Police as well as potential new partners within the various departments of the Ministry of National Security of Israel, showing them the benefits of the Elsight Halo and what it means to operate with absolute connection confidence.”
