Jim’s Group relaunches Jim’s Legal — bringing accessible, affordable legal services to everyday Australians

Jim’s Group, one of Australia’s most trusted household brands, has announced the fresh launch of its national division, Jim’s Legal.

Created to make quality legal services more accessible, transparent and affordable, Jim’s Legal aims to democratise the legal system by giving every Australian, from individuals and families to small business owners, the ability to access trusted legal help when they need it most. Launched initially in 2023, the relaunch is headed by some of industry’s leading experts.

The division will be led by Brendan Long, founding director of Celtic Legal and Samuel Braithwaite, Queensland state director for Professional Collections. Both are highly regarded industry professionals with deep experience across legal, consumer and business sectors. Together, they bring a shared vision of making legal expertise readily available to everyday Australians through a service built on trust, integrity and accessibility.

“Jim’s Legal is about accessibility, trust and convenience, the same principles that have made Jim’s Group a household name,” Cofounder Brendan Long said.

“For too long, legal services have felt intimidating or out of reach for many Australians. We’re changing that by offering practical, straightforward legal help that people can trust and afford.”

The division’s legal services will cover a broad range of services to cater to the needs of all Australians.

Jim’s Legal will offer comprehensive coverage across all major areas of law, including:

  • Debt recovery and insolvency – collections, restructuring and recovery strategies.
  • Commercial and business law – contracts, partnerships, franchising, debt recovery, insolvency and dispute resolution.
  • Property law and conveyancing – buying, selling, leasing and managing property transactions.
  • Wills, estates and probate – drafting wills, managing estates and navigating succession planning.
  • Employment and workplace law – employee rights, unfair dismissal, workplace disputes and compliance.
  • Criminal and traffic law – representation in criminal and traffic-related matters.
  • Civil litigation and dispute resolution – mediation, arbitration and court proceedings.
  • Consumer law – rights, warranties and fair trading issues.
  • Corporate and governance Law – business structure, director obligations and compliance.
  • Family law – divorce, custody, parenting agreements, property settlements and mediation.
  • Construction and contract law – building disputes, project agreements and contractor rights.
  • Immigration and visa law – visa applications, appeals and compliance for individuals and businesses.

With this broad service offering, Jim’s Legal aims to be the go-to legal partner for individuals, families and businesses, providing expert legal advice that is transparent, affordable and easy to access.

“Our goal is to make professional legal help as easy to access as any other essential service,” Cofounder Samuel Braithwaite said.

“We want Australians to feel supported, informed and empowered to deal with legal matters quickly and confidently, no matter where they live.”

Trusted support from the Jim’s name

With some than 5,500 franchisees across 50 plus divisions, Jim’s Group is synonymous with trust, reliability and community service, qualities the organisation says will define Jim’s Legal from its inception.

Jim Penman, founder and head of Jim’s Group, said expanding into the legal sector reflects the company’s continued mission to help Australians in more areas of their lives.

“Jim’s has always been about serving the community,” Penman said.

“Whether it’s mowing lawns, building fences or now providing legal help, we exist to make life easier for Australians. Jim’s Legal is an important next step in that mission.”

Jim’s Legal is now open for business nationwide, offering consultations online, over the phone and in person through a growing network of qualified legal professionals.  Franchise opportunities are also available for individuals and businesses keen to join one of the fastest growing legal franchise brands in the country.
