Hejaz car finance gains independent Shariah compliance certification

For many buyers seeking faith-aligned finance, purchasing a car involves more than comparing rates, repayments and loan terms. The structure of the finance also matters, because it needs to support a major life purchase without compromising religious principles.

This is becoming increasingly relevant as Islamic finance moves further into mainstream financial services. Customers are looking for products that can meet both sets of expectations: alignment with their faith and the protections, clarity and convenience expected from a modern, regulated finance provider.

Hejaz’s fixed and variable auto finance facilities have received independent Shariah compliance certification from Minarah Consulting, covering the period from 28 March 2026 to 27 March 2027.

The certification confirms Minarah’s Shariah Board has assessed the products’ structures, terms and conditions against Islamic finance principles. It found both facilities align with Shariah requirements, including appropriate treatment of risk and return, and do not involve prohibited activities or transactions.

The value of the certification is the independent assurance it gives customers. Faith-aligned finance depends on trust in both the product and the process behind it, and external Shariah review gives customers clearer confidence that the finance has been assessed against recognised standards rather than only described that way by the provider.

By Hakan Ozyon, Founder and CEO of Hejaz said the certification gives customers greater confidence that Hejaz’s auto finance products have been structured with both faith and practical financial needs in mind.

“Buying a car is a major financial decision, and Muslim customers should be able to access finance that supports that decision without compromising their principles,” Mr Ozyon said.

“Independent Shariah certification gives customers added assurance that our fixed and variable auto finance facilities have been reviewed against recognised Islamic finance standards, while still operating within Australia’s regulated financial system.

Independent Shariah review strengthens trust in faith-aligned auto finance

Car finance is often treated as a straightforward consumer product, but for customers seeking faith-aligned finance, the structure of the contract matters as much as the repayment terms.

A product may appear competitive while still raising questions about interest, prohibited transactions, or whether risk and return are treated in a way that aligns with Islamic finance principles. Independent Shariah review gives customers a clearer basis for assessing those issues, because the product has been examined by an external board rather than only described by the provider.

The Minarah Consulting certificate states that its Shariah Board assessed the products’ structure, terms and conditions, including the legal and regulatory environment in which they were developed and the application of Islamic jurisprudence within that context.

That gives the certification practical significance. It confirms Hejaz Islamic Credit Solutions’ auto finance products have been reviewed as both financial contracts and faith-aligned products intended to operate within Islamic law.

Faith-aligned finance needs to meet both Shariah and Australian regulatory standards

Islamic finance in Australia has to satisfy two expectations at once. Products must align with Shariah principles while also operating within the legal, regulatory and documentation requirements of the Australian financial services environment.

That balance is critical for customers seeking faith-aligned finance. They need confidence that the product reflects Islamic principles, but also that it carries the clarity, protections and operational discipline expected from a modern financial provider.

The Minarah Consulting certificate states that its Shariah Board considered the legal and regulatory environment in which the products were developed. That assessment is important because Islamic finance products must be structured to work in the market they serve, not only in principle but in practical use.

For Hejaz Islamic Credit Solutions, the certification reinforces its role in developing finance options that are religiously appropriate, commercially functional and suitable for everyday financial needs in Australia.

Auto finance is where faith-aligned banking becomes practical

Shariah compliant car finance matters because cars are often essential to daily life, particularly for households balancing work, family, education and community commitments.

When suitable finance options are limited, customers can face difficult choices between access, affordability and religious conviction. Expanding Shariah compliant auto finance helps reduce that tension by giving customers a clearer pathway to fund a necessary purchase without stepping outside their values.

The certification of both fixed and variable rate auto finance facilities is also commercially relevant because customers have different financial needs. Some prioritise repayment certainty, while others may prefer flexibility. Independent Shariah review across both product types gives customers greater choice within a faith-aligned framework.

Independent Shariah oversight clarifies how Islamic finance products are assessed

Trust in Islamic finance depends on more than pricing. Customers also need clarity on how a product is structured, how risk and return are treated, and whether the arrangement avoids prohibited activities.

The Minarah Consulting certificate states that its Shariah Board consulted relevant AAOIFI Shariah standards and other Islamic law authorities in reaching its decision. It also clarifies that the Board’s role is limited to assessing the products’ structures and principles, while operational management and execution remain the responsibility of Hejaz Islamic Credit Solutions.

That distinction gives customers a clearer understanding of what certification does and does not cover. It provides independent assessment of the products against Shariah criteria, while leaving day-to-day delivery and compliance with Hejaz Islamic Credit Solutions.

Hejaz is expanding practical access to faith-aligned finance in Australia

The certification supports Hejaz Islamic Credit Solutions’ broader role in making Islamic finance more accessible across major financial decisions in Australia.

As demand for values-aligned financial products grows, the next phase of Islamic finance will depend on products that are transparent, independently reviewed and practical enough to meet everyday needs. Auto finance sits directly within that category because it supports a necessary purchase while still requiring careful attention to structure, fairness and Shariah compliance.

Hejaz’s independently certified fixed and variable auto finance facilities give customers a clearer pathway to approach car finance through a Shariah compliant structure, supported by review from an external Shariah Board.

For Hejaz Islamic Credit Solutions, the certification reinforces its role in broadening access to Islamic finance products that are independently reviewed, commercially practical and designed for everyday financial decisions in Australia.
