Okanui Appoints Alison Hamilton as New Head of Product

  • Written by Business Daily Media

Okanui, the iconic Australian lifestyle apparel brand, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Alison Hamilton as the new Head of Product. Alison joins Okanui with an impressive background in fashion apparel, bringing extensive experience in both men's and women's categories. She has held pivotal roles such as Head of Women's Mainstream at The Iconic, Managing Director at Mavi Jeans, and spent 17 years shaping the Buying Team at David Jones.

"We are incredibly excited to welcome Alison Hamilton to the Okanui family," said Simon Kasprowicz, CEO of Okanui. "Alison’s passion for fashion and her deep industry knowledge make her the perfect fit for our brand. We are confident that her leadership will help us reach new heights and deliver exceptional products that our customers will love."

Alison will lead Okanui's talented product team, focusing on elevating the brand and continuing the legacy of high-quality, fun, and comfortable clothing. Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Okanui as the brand continues to celebrate its heritage and commitment to coastal living.

Okanui's story began in 1978 on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia, with a love of surfing, a touch of ingenuity, and a pioneering Australian spirit. Founder Dick Ash created the first pair of cotton board shorts using his mum’s sewing machine and old canvas mail bags from the Avalon Post Office. The distinctive hibiscus print he designed remains the signature of the Okanui brand today.

For over 45 years, Okanui has remained a family-owned business, producing timeless apparel that embodies the Australian lifestyle including days at the beach and on the water. Whether you're at the beach, on the boat, or at the bar, Okanui heritage pieces are designed to improve with wear, becoming faithful favourites that help consumers Escape the Everyday.
