Greater Western Sydney leading the building boom charge

  • Written by Billy Tucker, Oneflare CEO

Oneflare, an online marketplace dedicated to connecting high-quality Australian businesses with the customers that need them, has released new data on the top suburbs across NSW using its platform to get jobs done.

Consumer research conducted by the platform has also revealed that the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder scheme is a flop; 31% of respondents hadn’t heard of it, while almost 60% said it wouldn’t affect their renovation plans.

“While we know that many people will still ask friends for referrals for experts, what we’re finding is that, increasingly, more people are jumping online to find service professionals who are qualified, certified and available to do the work immediately,” CEO of Oneflare Billy Tucker said.

“Through Oneflare, customers are quickly connected with local businesses who can start providing quotes, so you get competition for the work, which is a big plus for the customer.”

Oneflare has analysed data from thousands of jobs done over the past 12 months to find where most customers and businesses were connecting, finding that the Greater West of Sydney is the stand-out geography when it comes to these activities.

Oneflare’s consumer research also found almost 75% of Australians would like to renovate their homes, with backyard, bathroom and kitchen upgrades being the primary targets.

“Around half of all respondents reported having more disposable income to spend on renovations since COVID. Most Australians have a budget of more than $5000 for renovations.”

“With over 180 categories, from plumbers and electricians to pet groomers and interior designers, Oneflare is where you can get any job sorted,” concluded Mr Tucker.
