Storepro spearheads expansion with key new hires

Australia’s leading retail fit-out business has announced a slew of new hires along with a new organisational structure.

Storepro, Australia’s leading retail fit-out business, has announced a number of key hires to lead its rapidly expanding team.

Nick Campbell has joined as general manager, with Stuart Engledow as the Victoria state manager, Tom Paratkis as head of delivery and David Macintyre as Queensland state manager. The family business has also signalled the next generation of construction talent with the appointment of Paris Young as head of brand, alongside her sister, Belle Young as its NSW state manager.

Nick Campbell brings extensive leasing experience to round out Storepro’s retail strategy offering, providing clients with a truly end-to-end service. Working previously as delivery manager for AMP Capital, he has developed his expertise in mixed-use developments, large format projects and delivering projects in operational assets.

Paris’s background in design and brand strategy will help to future-proof the Storepro business by providing clients with expertise in customer and brand experience, while Belle’s fashion and construction background brings a unique blend of creativity, retail expertise and practical building experience to Storepro. Paris and Belle are both strong advocates of improving the proportion of women working in the construction industry, especially in leadership positions.

As Victoria state manager, Stuart brings over eight years of experience in project management and a diverse background in property, construction and sales to Storepro, heading up projects in Victoria for retail and construction projects.

With over 10 years of experience in the project management space, Tom has had an extensive career in retail, residential, and commercial construction. Working client-side before moving to Storepro, Tom was previously project manager for businesses such as Insitu Group Pty Ltd and Schiavello Group.

David Macintyre also brings with him almost 10 years of trades industry experience from recruitment to project delivery and management level, with experience across a wide variety of projects including hospitals, schools, pools, hospitality venues, corporate offices and both commercial and retail outlets in both the UK and Australia. His recruitment and talent background brings a unique insight to Storepro as David has the ability to expertly speak the language of multiple skills at all levels on site at any one time.

Storepro is one of Australia's leading retail fit-out businesses, with over 20 years of experience in project managing, procuring, and building commercial spaces for clients throughout Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Korea supplying joinery and other retail elements to the USA and UK.

Since its launch in January 2002, husband and wife duo Shane and Amanda Young have grown the business from strength to strength, with a team of 20+ based in offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Queensland and average annual revenue of between $20-$30m.

Storepro has crafted stores for the world’s top retailers including Levi’s, RM Williams, Camilla, Sass and Bide, L’Occitane, Tod’s, and TKMaxx along with major office spaces and commercial sites. Storepro’s end to end offering can help brands save an average of 10-20% on their in-store fit out, as well as hit their sustainability goals without compromising on design and customer experience.

The business currently has a number of exciting projects in the works, including sportswear brand LSKD’s transformation from online to in store at Chadstone Shopping Centre. Other recent projects include RM Williams in Queenstown, and La Marzocco’s client-centric display suites.

Speaking about the business’s new hires, co-founder Shane Young said: “While many shopfitters don’t enjoy repeat business, Storepro has a long, 20+ year reputation and partnerships with some of Australia’s best retailers.

Our new hires will continue to strengthen these partnerships and lead the business into its next phase of growth, underpinned by our mission of helping retailers create outstanding experiences for their customers.”

Storepro blends retail strategy with a psychological design approach to help brands not only get the most out of their retail space but to ensure the business continues to deliver value for long-term business success.

The business is passionate about delivering sustainable, recycled and eco-friendly building materials, fittings and fixtures without compromising on style, functionality, quality and aesthetics. The team is always on the hunt for new ways to repurpose existing fixtures and fittings and recycle building materials, joinery, and excess waste for future fit-outs.

Storepro has a strong relationship with circular fashion charity organisation Thread Together, including building its distribution elements, mobile wardrobes, clothing hubs and working on upcoming projects. It also regularly hires young people through community organisations and charities, providing them with high-quality skills and training.
