$840K Donation to Vinnies Victoria to Support Australians in Housing Crisis

MELBOURNE – In a powerful act of generosity, the Melbourne-based property investment and wealth management firm Reventon has successfully sold a brand-new, five-bedroom home in Mount Duneed for $840,000, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria (Vinnies) to support people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

The home at 273 Boundary Road, Mount Duneed, was sold via private treaty, allowing the transaction to be finalised swiftly and the funds transferred directly to Vinnies.

“This is one of the proudest moments in Reventon’s history,” said Chris Christofi, CEO of Reventon. “We built this home not to make a profit, but to make a difference, and now, thanks to the generosity of the buyer and our partners, we’re able to donate every cent to help those doing it tough.”

The initiative, known as the Brick by Brick Charity Build, was developed in partnership with Hermitage Homes, covering all construction and styling costs to ensure the entire sale amount could go to charity. The result: a turnkey designer family home transformed into a life-changing donation.

“This project has shown what’s possible when business and community come together for a greater purpose,” said Christofi. “The funds will go directly to providing shelter, meals, and mental health support for Victorians who need it most.”

A Life Changing Gift

Homelessness remains one of Australia’s most pressing issues, affecting over 122,000 people who experience housing insecurity. Vinnies Victoria provides essential services, including food, emergency accommodation, and wraparound support throughout the state.

“An $840,000 donation is absolutely transformative,” said Dr Jennifer Fitzgerald, CEO of Vinnies Victoria.

“Just $75 can feed a family for a day, so this contribution will help thousands of people in crisis. We are incredibly grateful to Reventon for their compassion and leadership,” she said.

The five-bedroom home was built with modern family living and sustainability in mind, featuring:

The sale also reflects the growing role of purpose driven initiatives in the property sector.
