  • Written by Media Release

International franchise group Choice Hotels Asia-Pac has welcomed six new hotels to its extensive portfolio, increasing its footprint across suburban & CBD Melbourne, and regional New South Wales.

In inner Melbourne, Alto Hotel on Bourke has launched under the upscale soft-brand, Ascend Hotel Collection. Alto Hotel on Bourke boasts stylishly appointed rooms, housed in the heritage listed former Australian Railway Union building, and is the first hotel in Australia to be certified carbon-neutral. The property maintains a range of green initiatives including 100% renewable energy, rainwater use throughout, rooftop beehives and electric vehicle charging, to mention just a few.

In Glen Waverley, Domi Serviced Apartments has become part of the Ascend Hotel Collection, an exciting addition to Choice Hotels’ expanding offering of premium accommodation. The hotel is located within the prestigious Galleria Apartment Building. The property features stunning interiors, luxury bathrooms and the convenience of European laundry within the apartments

Quality Hotel Carlton, located opposite Princes Park in Melbourne’s CBD fringe suburb of Carlton was also welcomed into the group. Offering comfortable and stylish guest rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, sauna, gym and Laureate restaurant, the hotel caters well to both business and leisure travellers.

Located centrally in Dandenong, Quality Apartments Dandenong has joined the Choice Hotels family and boasts modern townhouse apartments on offer for guests. Additionally, Econo Lodge Lilydale has also joined the portfolio in the area and is situated near popular attractions including the Healesville Sanctuary and Yarra Ranges National Park.

In regional New South Wales, Econo Lodge Savannah Park Tamworth is a unique property, offering guests classic country hospitality. Featuring a range of room options, a family owned restaurant, and with a nod to Tamworth’s country music heritage – a guitar shaped swimming pool) originally opened by Slim Dusty), Econo Lodge Savannah Park Tamworth offers guests a comfortable and unique stay in the heart of New England.

Trent Fraser, CEO of Choice Hotels Asia-Pac, said: “It is undeniable that the hotel industry, across all levels, is being dramatically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Our paramount focus during these challenging times is to support our franchisees – both new and existing - and let them know we are with them every step of the way as we journey through this crisis, and through the other side,” said Fraser.

We are thrilled to welcome these new hotels to our evolving and diverse portfolio of properties and hope to help them grow their business and offering as we continue into 2021 and beyond,” he added.
