New York, New York--(Newsfile Corp. - July 29, 2024) - Josh Kesselman, founder of RAW Rolling Papers, has recently announced a $100,000 donation to The Weldon Project under the RAW Giving initiative. The Weldon Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending cannabis prohibition and rectifying the harm caused by the War on Drugs. This donation will support The Weldon's Project's ongoing efforts to support individuals negatively impacted by cannabis laws.
RAW Giving's donation will go directly to The Weldon Project's Mission Green.
Kesselman and RAW Giving's donation will go directly to funding The Weldon Project's Mission [Green] Initiative, which focuses on providing aid and resources to facilitate a successful reentry into society for people who have been incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses. The Mission [Green] initiative provides legal assistance, job training, and support services essential for giving people a second chance.
"This generous donation from RAW Giving is a game-changer for us and, more importantly, for the countless individuals who are unjustly suffering because of outdated and unjust cannabis laws. It's partnerships like these that not only bring financial support, but also raise awareness about the crucial need for reform and the importance of giving those impacted by prohibition a second chance at life," said Weldon Angelos, founder of the Weldon Project.
Angelos founded the Weldon Project following his release from prison after serving 13 years. His case was high-profile and garnered immense pressure from the public for his release.

Josh Kesselman spoke about the donation in a recent press release, "This donation is reflective of RAW's commitment to justice and equity in the cannabis community. Nobody should be locked up for using this wonderful plant, and I hope this donation helps many people live the lives they deserve. Hopefully, this inspires others to join us in supporting justice for all people harmed by the War on Drugs."
Kesselman and The Weldon Project are joining forces in order to push forward efforts to create a future where cannabis laws are fair and equitable, and those penalized under prohibition are given the opportunities they rightfully deserve.
