  • Written by Newsfile

Mexico City, Mexico--(Newsfile Corp. - February 9, 2023) - TagWizz[1], the number one video game outsourcing company in Mexico, is entering the metaverse through Roblox' platform. Metaverses have been up and running in the video game industry for more than a decade. Only recently, big tech companies are looking into joining in by bringing people from outside the gaming population.

"Roblox's gaming platform is a metaverse precursor," said Adrian Gimate-Welsh, TagWizz founder and CEO. "Its robust programming tools are the main reason why TagWizz is flexing its muscles to create its first multiplayer video game metaverse experience named TAG[3]," the executive pointed out.

In December 2022, the platform attracted over 58 million daily active users. As professional development within metaverses in general, and Roblox in particular, continues to grow, TagWizz aims at positioning itself as a key partner for all these ecosystems, just as they had managed to do in other areas of video game services.

"Trends show that the metaverse will be a very influential Internet paradigm in the near future, especially for social interactions, education platforms and multiplayer video games," Gimate-Welsh said. "TagWizz is prepared for big players looking for expertise in metaverse development and backend. This technology offers a new type of experience, in which products transcend playfulness into a more communal place of encounter and discovery. This new understanding of what video games can be is drawing the younger generations in numbers." TagWizz' CEO has recently highlighted[4] the great potential for gamification of education, which means applying game design and mechanics within a non-game context, empowering educational tools by capturing young people's attention. "These are some of the reasons we're developing a math school inside of our Roblox experience as well."

Roblox saw an upsurge of popularity during the pandemic, as the lockdown invited swaths of users to join the platform. Its daily active users increased by 18% in December to 61.5 million, and a total of user engagement hours increased by 21% to 4.7 billion that month. In the company's third quarter earnings in 2022, Roblox reported that 54% of all daily active users on the platform were over the age of 13, and its fastest growing age cohort was 17-24 year olds, which grew by 41% and accounted for 22% of hours spent on the platform.

"The metaverse trend inside the video game industry must be the main reason why big tech companies are exploring this technology," Gimate-Welsh said. "Even though much of the metaverse conversation revolves around Virtual Reality and NFT developments, it is in the gaming sector that we find well-established successful cases," he concluded.
