Jasper's biggest and best winter festival is happening Jan. 13-29, 2023
Jasper, Alberta--(Newsfile Corp. - December 14, 2022) - The Jasper in January Festival is back for another year of frosty fun and lighthearted memory-making in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. From January 13-29, 2023, visit this beloved mountain town to celebrate the season with lively events, delicious food and cherished winter activities that all ages will enjoy.
For decades, Jasper in January has delivered joyful mountain culture and good times in any weather. The 2023 festival will deliver everything that's made it a classic: amazing skiing and snowboarding at Marmot Basin, sleigh rides with a scenic view, a pond hockey tournament, fat biking tours, the famous Street Party with fireworks, and an exciting après scene to take visitors into the night.
But there are also plenty of new additions to the schedule. Experience comfort cuisine at its finest at the inaugural Poutine Showdown, wherein local restaurants will vie for the title of Jasper's Top Poutine. The tastier side of winter continues with Wine O'Clock, a new weekday special event with Jasper Food Tours, and Vinophilia: For the Love of Winter, a cocktail-style evening that'll take visitors around the world.
Can't miss cultural events include the new festival-exclusive Theatre Tour experience, which includes four performances across four locations. The live music series "After Dark" will return, as will Mountain Malanka - a Ukrainian New Year's celebration of winter culture, food, music, and dance.
The Jasper in January Festival is the perfect way to bring in the new year. Wear a favourite toque to the mountains and discover why the chilliest months are also the most unforgettable.
