New York, New York--(Newsfile Corp. - February 28, 2022) - Claudia Carbonell continues to enchant readers with The Magical Heroes series. Reaching from young readers to the Pope himself, each story in the collection is based on real events featuring children who are changing the world.

The first installment, The Little Girl and the Pope[1], is based on the life of Vivienne Harr. While visiting a favorite museum with her father in Pleasanton, CA, Vivienne discovered the work of photographer Lisa Kristine. The photographs showed two slave boys in the mountains of Nepal with heavy rocks tied to their backs. Immediately, Vivienne questioned why those boys pictured were not at school or playing with friends like typical kids. When her father explained the concept of slavery, Vivienne leaped into action, starting an impossible mission to fight against slavery with compassion, love, and a good pitcher of lemonade.

In Zenobia and her Dolls[2], a young girl named Zenobia Lloyd has her entire world upended when her grandfather passes away and her parents move their family to Berkeley, CA. At her new school, Zenobia is ostracized for not looking like the popular girls. She launches a project to pay for the education of underprivileged girls in Uganda, funding the entire endeavor with the help of her dolls.

The Magical Heroes series is perfect for children ages 9 to 14 as well as the parents, caregivers, and educators responsible for their moral growth. With universal themes and inspiring messages, these stories will appeal to a broad audience of any age.

Furthermore, unlike other modern children's literature, Carbonell's work is more than simple entertainment. Instead, The Little Girl and the Pope and Zenobia and her Dolls teach young readers about their own power and ability to effect change in an increasingly immoral society.

From poverty to beauty, this impactful series tackles serious topics with age-appropriate sensitivity and opens the door to conversations about ethical behavior. Literature provides a unique window into the most pressing issues of our time, and education so often starts behind the cover of a compelling book-cue Carbonell and her standout series.
