Young Aussie transforming business and community spaces into stunning works of art

Young Aussie Taiya Bukovsky, is one of Australia’s most revered artists, responsible for creating hundreds of profile and highly prized murals and window installations across Australia.

Bukovsky has created huge mural installations for many iconic brands including Rydges, Telstra, St Mary’s Town Centre, Sutherland Shire Council, St Ives Shopping Village, Ray White and many more.   It all started for Bukovsky in 2015, inspired by her love of street art, particularly the iconic Bondi Sea Wall, she applied to showcase her work there.   By 2016, she had secured her first paid commission and in 2019 she was approached to create Christmas window installations for St Mary’s Town Centre – a service that has grown significantly with over 100 windows painted across Sydney in 2024.  As a result, her works, under the business name Awol Creations, have transformed a prolific number of spaces in both commercial and residential settings.

“This year, demand for our Christmas work for business’ shop fronts has skyrocketed.  So many people have seen the wonderful Christmas window installations that we have created and the extraordinary magical presence that they create and everyone wants to be part of this growing tradition,” Bukovsky said.

“We are designing and painting an amazing array of Christmas window installations on a daily basis for businesses.  They have become a hallmark of creativity and joy, transforming shop fronts across Sydney into festive, eye-catching displays. The success of these windows has not only boosted local businesses but also brought families and neighbors together to admire the streets of Sydney.”

Bukovsky’s extraordinary Christmas window installations have been an enchanting and much loved part of Australia’s retail and business festive season.  Iconic brands have engaged her services to create magical and memorable Christmas cheer on their windows, walls and shopfronts.

“Murals are more than art, they are a source of inspiration that uplifts people and sparks creativity. My goal is to transform spaces and inspire others to dream big, embrace and follow their passions - leading by example,” Bukovsky said.
“The grandeur of murals transforms spaces into something extraordinary. They become a powerful presence.”

Under the motto, ‘live to create and inspire’, Bukovsky and her team combine high quality tailored artwork with a personal client experience.   Her designs are meticulously crafted to reflect each client’s unique brand and space, using professional grade materials and techniques for long-lasting and impactful results.

“Murals are so powerful and so enduring.   They last forever and can be updated easily. They are transformative because they can become one with their surroundings and create incredibly compelling and engaging spaces for people and communities,” Bukovsky.

Australia’s youngest and most successful large format commercial mural artist, Bukovsky’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. In 2020, she faced significant health issues, including chronic fatigue and chronic UTIs, which led to a temporary pause in her career.

Despite these setbacks and the resulting mental health struggles including PTSD, she has persevered and emerged stronger, dedicating herself fully to her craft in 2024. Her resilience is a testament to her determination and passion for art.

“I would like to host events supporting causes like women’s health, mental health and domestic violence.  As someone who has lived the experience of the trauma and challenges associated with these issues, and women’s health issues at a young age, I want to help others.  Too many women suffer in silence,” Bukovksy added.

“Art is my joy and my hope is that I can use it to help as many people as possible during my journey.”
