If you already have a wood-burning stove or fireplace in your home, the decision to use this over your gas supply seems like a no-brainer right now. Installing a wood-burning device incurs an initial cost that would need to be considered. In the long run, it could be worthwhile doing so to eventually make savings. However, gas boilers are also costly to install.

There is also evidence to suggest that wood burners increase the overall value of a property, another long-term decision that could prove financially savvy if you decide to sell. You should also consider the fact that, when you purchase a bulk order of kiln-dried wood, you could make further savings.

Kiln-dried wood is exceptionally efficient and won’t emit large amounts of smoke, heating everybody inside and not harming them either. This type of wood is renewable too, so when you opt for it over gas, you’ll be doing your bit for the planet. If you have a fireplace in your home, it makes a lot of sense to use it this winter.
