Indonesian Minister of SOEs officially closes 2018 IBD Expo
Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, Oct 9, 2018 - (ACN Newswire) - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) of Republic of Indonesia Rini M Soemarno has officially closed 2018 Indonesia Business and Development (IBD) Expo held at Grand City Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, Saturday.

On the closing ceremony, Rini became the key speaker of a millennial-themed talkshow, 'Cangkrukan Bincang Bersama Milenial', where Rini gave motivational talk to 1.060 SOE milenial-generation employees.

In this dialogue session, Minister Rini conveyed her hope on the sustainability and leadership transition of SOEs to the hands of millennials. "Undeniably, all of SOEs must prepare the millennials employees to take the leadership relay because I believe that all of SOEs could last for more than 100 years if they can manage the regeneration properly," said Rini.

On the same occasion, Rini also witnessed the MoU signings between PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. with 4 SOEs which are PT Dok dan Perkapalan Surabaya, PT Pal Indonesia, PT Barata Indonesia, and PT Boma Bisma; PT Dayamitra Komunikasi and PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia; and Pelindo III and PT Dok dan Perkapalan Surabaya.

In addition, in the wake of earthquake tragedy devastating Palu and Donggala, Central Sulawesi last week, Rini would like to apreciate the sacrifice made by a number of SOEs employees on duty.

"Beside Anthonius Gunawan who sacrificed his live saving the passengers of airplane, we also know that a ship captain of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Alfred Rahasia, who also sacrificed himself only to ensure that all of the passengers were saved," she continued.

In the end of the ceremony, Rini along with tens of SOE executives as well as thousands of SOE employees performed flash mob and wefie.

Chairman of 2018 IBD Expo Achmad Fachrodji said that this year's IBD Expo saw some progress both scale and business transactions.

"The number of exhibitors increased from last year's 98 booths to 109 booths this year, with the total of visitors reaching almost 57,366 visitors," said Fachrodji.

Through a series of millenial-themed side events such as Millennial Talkshow held by 12 SOEs, Site Visit by Students to a number of SOEs manufacturing sites, and Talkshow 'Cangkrukan Bincang Bersama Millennial featuring Minister Soemarno as the one of the speakers, this year's IBD Expo emphasized the importance of millennial generation engagement in nation development, especially to the competitiveness of SOEs in global scene.
