Aussie innovation now fighting COVID on a global scale

  • Written by Blue Planet Public Relations

A validated, clean tech approach to infection control has seen Australia’s own Aeris Environmental lead the fight against COVID-19 across the country and around the globe.

Aeris Environmental’s team of experts and scientists are behind end-to-end risk management and infection control strategies for some of the world’s busiest airports, hotels, highly attended events, and major retail businesses.

Aeris Environmental Founder and Chairman, Maurie Stang, says that clean and green solutions should be the focus of environmental hygiene for sustainable businesses.

“The global pandemic has created new challenges for many countries and their communities. Aeris Environmental product technologies aim to deliver cleantech options that improve health, business productivity, efficiency and environmental sustainability,” said Mr Stang.

“Our team is dedicated to developing unique formulations that provide validated efficacy against the three vectors of infection – hand and skin, hard surface, and instrument cleaning. Our products, where required, are registered or listed with the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods and consider every infection risk point, so that our customers have the confidence of complete and lasting protection.”

At a time when the United States is facing in excess of 25 million COVID cases and a stressed healthcare system, Indiana Governor, Eric Holcombe, announced a partnership with Aeris to deliver environmentally friendly disinfection solutions for schools, nursing homes and public facilities across the state.

“Thanks to Aeris Environmental, Indiana can take another step toward reopening safely during the pandemic – allowing children to attend schools and parents to continue working and providing for their families during this difficult time,” said Indiana Governor, Eric Holcomb.

With a holistic approach to environmental hygiene, the Aeris eco-system of products simplify infection prevention for everyday use and lasting protection.

Singapore’s Changi Airport’s reputation for high sanitation and disinfection measures is underpinned by the use of internationally patented products such as Aeris Active. When applied on clean or dirty hard surfaces, Aeris Active is validated to kill and protect against COVID-19 for up to 7 days.

To support Australia’s hospitals and front-line responders in the midst of the pandemic, Aeris increased production of products in short supply and enhanced the product offering with environmentally sustainable solutions.

The first of its kind in the world, Aeris hard surface paper wipes are activated by water, deliver hospital-grade disinfection, in addition to serving as a biodegradable alternative to plastic wipes.

The company’s alcohol-free, foam hand sanitiser is used across select government departments and facilities, particularly in some of Australia’s high humidity environments such as the Northern Territory.

With Australia’s COVID-19 cases largely originating from international arrivals, the spotlight is now on the role hotel quarantine plays in spreading the COVID-19 virus.

Aeris supplies various Australian hotels, with environmental hygiene solutions for hard surfaces in rooms, elevators and food preparation areas, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems, and hand sanitation in lobbies and halls. Implementation of these hygiene measures deliver a complete end-to-end infection protection to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
