Payment Logic Group: A Decade of Transforming Business Payments

In a modest office in Camberwell, Payment Logic Group has spent the past ten years quietly revolutionising how Australian businesses manage their payments. What began as a small startup with a bold idea has grown into one of the country’s leading B2B payments platforms, processing over $7 billion annually.

The company’s journey began in 2013 when a common frustration for businesses was identified: the inability to pay suppliers via credit card. Its solution was Australia’s first Bill Payments Service Platform (BPSP), enabling businesses to pay invoices using credit cards.

“When we launched in 2015, we were the first to offer a Bill Payments Service Platform,” says Co-CEO Sam Plowman. “Businesses needed a reliable and secure way to pay invoices by card, and Payment Logic Group built a solution that worked for companies of all sizes.”

From its beginnings with American Express, Payment Logic Group has expanded to support Visa, Mastercard, and Bank Transfers. The company now serves tens of thousands of businesses across Australia, and its platforms are used not only for supplier payments but also for payroll, ATO obligations, and credit card settlements, all while allowing companies to earn reward points and improve cash flow.

A critical factor behind the company’s success has been its customer-first approach. “It’s not just about functionality,” says Plowman. “Running a business is challenging, so delivering a platform that is secure, intuitive, and rewarding was always important to us.”

To further enhance the value for its clients, Payment Logic recently launched Rewards Accelerator, a feature that allows businesses to customize the number of points they earn per transaction across eight tiers, with the potential to earn up to 10 points per $1.

Security and efficiency are also central to the platform’s design. “Businesses can process hundreds of invoices per month,” says Co-CEO and co-founder Mark Nimco. “With Payment Logic, they enter their financial details just once into a Level 1 PCI-compliant encrypted system, and payments are processed in seconds. This eliminates repeated entry and reduces risk significantly.”

Payment Logic Group’s growth has also been supported by strategic partnerships with American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Cuscal, as well as loyalty programs such as Qantas Business Rewards, Velocity Frequent Flyer, Virgin Australia Business Flyer, and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer. These partnerships allow businesses to securely pay all expenses while maximising reward points and cash flow advantages.

Beyond technological innovation, the company has stayed agile, deploying weekly live updates informed by customer feedback and usage data. “We continuously refine our platforms, ensuring they remain user-friendly while meeting the evolving needs of our clients,” Plowman says.

After a decade of success and recent exponential growth, Payment Logic Group is now preparing for its next chapter: inviting investors to partner as it expands its offering, develops further strategic partnerships, and continues to redefine B2B payments in Australia and abroad.
