Product of the Year 2024 Awards

ENTRIES FOR THE 2024 PRODUCT OF THE YEAR AWARDS ARE NOW OPEN – AS THE AWARDS CELEBRATES ITS 15TH ANNIVERSARY.

Product of the Year (POY), the world’s largest consumer-voted awards has officially commenced its search for their 2024 winners. Now entering its 15th year in Australia, brands are being invited to enter their best and most innovative products to showcase in the awards, to be in the running to win one of the highly coveted award categories.

To enter the list of prestigious products and house-hold brand names that compete for the awards, products must be launched between December 2021 and May 2023  and demonstrate innovation through their packaging, function or design. Product of The Year always encourages small businesses and brand-new products to enter, as well as any known brands that have redesigned or adapted their products.

The POY Awards assist consumers in choosing the right items to help make smart purchasing decisions that guarantee value for money, saving time for consumers to avoid disappointment in their purchasing. Previous winners of the esteemed awards have ranged across categories such as beauty, health, food, and home care, with household brand names such as Woolworths, Koala, Coles, Colgate, Roll’d and Nescafe taking home winning titles, as well as many smaller businesses and startups.

The Product of Year Logo has become highly recognisable and has proven to be a powerful marketing message with winners, typically seeing their sales increase by an average of 10%-15%.

Winning products will be announced in November 2023 and will receive the right to use the POY seal in marketing communications for one year.

Sarah Connelly, Managing Director of Product of the Year Australia says, We're celebrating 15 years this year. Every year we see brands evolving their products to suit shifting consumers needs and demands. It's been so impressive to see so many brands enter over the years, and we're excited to continue this trajectory into 2024.”

For the 2023 awards program, Product of The Year are excited to continue to offer new businesses the chance to enter the ‘Ones To Watch’ category, which recognises innovative products from smaller companies or start-ups who may not have the budget or distribution to enter into the full awards program.

In addition, Product of The Year offers ongoing support to businesses by maintaining their reduced COVID pricing for the 2024 Product of the Year Awards program.

The program fees will be remain at the reduced rates of:

  • $3,500 Nielsen Research fee which offers a unique survey of over 5,000 shoppers and their thoughts on your products
  • $15,000 Winner’s Fee
Brands entering the ‘Ones to Watch’ category will only have to pay the research fee and not the winner’s fee.

The reduced fees are part of Product of the Year’s efforts to champion innovative brands in Australia whilst acknowledging the financial struggles that many have been facing.

In Australia, the Product of the Year seal is backed by the votes of 5,000+ consumers and aims to provide a time and money-saving shortcut for shoppers, guiding them towards the very best products on shelves.
