Underground Spirits Australia Spreads a Little Sweetness

  • Written by Underground Spirits CEO Claudia Roughley

Australia’s cocktail scene is about to be sweetened as Underground Spirits signals its expansion into the national drinks market with an industry event at Little National Hotel in Sydney on 5 April.

Timed to coincide with World Caramel Day, the event will showcase to industry movers and shakers, from stockists and retailers to influencers and cocktail aficionados, that the Canberra-based Underground Spirits distillery is expanding into the national drinks market. Not only will the event feature our delicious, award-winning Vodka with Caramel, it will unveil Underground Spirits’ Caramel Martini Espresso now on tap at the Little National, and new Limited Edition Coronation Gin for the King, all in the spirit of innovation.

What better time to celebrate our expansion vision than with our distinctive and delicious Vodka with Caramel this World Caramel Day. Imagine a smooth, premium vodka with the sweetness of caramel – this spirit is a real indulgence. You can drink it neat, over ice or enjoy in a vodka espresso martini to add a new dimension to this cocktail classic that is now on tap at the Little National.

We have designed and installed a sleek machine to consistently serve the perfect Underground Caramel Espresso Martini at the Little National. It pours a perfectly cold, smooth and indulgent cocktail in seconds.

Underground Spirits Australia is well known in Canberra for its premium vodka and craft gins made from high-quality local ingredients, including pristine water from the Snowy Mountains. While the base spirit is made using traditional distilling methods, we have developed an innovative sub-zero, sub-micron cryofiltration process to eliminate impurities and create the ultimate smooth finish for our vodkas and gins. Now it’s time for Sydney to discover Underground Spirits Australia!

To create our distinctive, delicious and indulgent Vodka with Caramel we use caramel that is made for us in Queensland and fold it thoroughly into the vodka to give it its smooth, sweet flavour. Rest assured, none of this flavour is lost in our Caramel Espresso Martini on tap, which effortlessly replicates the premium taste that is synonymous with all our Underground Spirits.

Underground Spirits partnered with Little National Hotel, part of DOMA Group and one of the largest private hoteliers in the ACT because they are also expanding into New South Wales with Little National a key location. The hotel’s innovative, luxurious and sophisticated design share the same values of Underground Spirits Australia.

At the World Caramel Day event Little National will be serving up Vodka with Caramel-inspired canapes, including Slow Cooked Pork Belly with Caramel Vodka, Chilli, Ginger & Shallots; Caramel Vodka Drunken King Prawns; Brulee Tart; and a spectacular Chocolate Tart With Caramel Vodka Foam – all paired with Caramel Espresso Martinis on tap.

Underground Spirits Australia’s Vodka with Caramel will be on show at this year’s Royal Easter Show in the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome from Thursday, 6 April to Monday 17 April 2023 alongside its Limited -Edition Coronation Gin.
