_SOUTHSTART Success Story
Tic:Toc
Who is Tic:Toc?
Established in 2017, Tic:Toc is a platform technology company and digital lender revolutionising financial service processes to make them faster, smarter and simpler for both consumers and businesses in Australia.
Tic:Toc combines a B2B offering with a B2C ‘proving ground’, using its AI and Machine Learning-driven proprietary technology and over five years of data to reimagine the customer experience and credit underwriting process.
Tic:Toc’s platform touches more than 70% of the digital home loan market, and its technology is licensed by 15 Enterprise partners, including two of Australia’s largest banks.
Tic:Toc’s Online Home Loans:
Tic:Toc’s world-first technology and B2B offering allows customers to apply for a low-cost home loan, through an online application process that takes less than one hour.
After digitising a bank’s credit policy, Tic:Toc has created a series of data models to make lending recommendations for their human assessment team.
With its own Australian Credit License, this fin-tech company is backed and funded by Bendigo and Adelaide bank to ensure its customers' money is protected under major banking laws and legislations.
The bigger picture...
Tic:Toc is much more than a platform technology company and digital lender. Their platform enables more responsible, efficient and cost-effective lending experiences for B2C (Borrowers) and B2B (Lenders, Brands & Industry) by leveraging their proprietary technology combined with a delightful human service.

The role of _SOUTHSTART
Many companies are on the hunt for frameworks that can help bring it all together from an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) perspective. Understanding what is out there and what might be possible for companies to consider can often be a challenging and long road.
This is where _SOUTHSTART had a pivotal role to play in Tic:Toc’s story.
It was the networking, connections, and collaborative conversations at _SOUTHSTART 2021 which highlighted the benefits of a BCorp certification and that achieving this, could be the ESG framework Tic:Toc has been searching for all along.
So what is BCorp?
BCorp is a global community of companies that are out there to be a force for good. These are companies that either want to have impactful business models or who are trying to change an industry through their initiatives, technology and/or a process to create better communities.
Looking right across the whole company from its environmental footprint to its supply chain and employees, achieving a BCorp status is a wonderful support system for companies that are doing great things.
An introduction to Collab4Good Co-Founder, Sarah Gun at the_SOUTHSTART Impact Summit was the first connection Tic:Toc needed to begin their BCorp Status journey. After explaining why BCorp was a good fit for Tic:Toc and setting out a strategy to achieve this, Sarah then introduced the Tic:Toc team to Mei-Ling Ho, B Consultant at Social Change HQ, who has now partnered with them on their journey to receiving their BCorp Status.
Tic:Toc are only 2-3 months away from achieving their accreditation and it's all looking promising thanks to their connections at _SOUTHSTART.
According to Tic:Toc CMO, Laura Osti :
“We always wanted to look into achieving our BCorp Certification but that day at _SOUTHSTART helped us to put a strategy in place as well as provided the right connections and opportunities to do so.”
“Achieving our BCorp will mean we can become a part of another community of companies that help each other to be better.”
“I can't stress enough how inspired we were coming away from _SOUTHSTART. Our company vision was always clear but it was coming away from that day that we knew what our next steps had to be.”
