What Makes A Holiday Resort Child-Friendly?

  • Written by: Business Daily Media

Many parents ask this question, as they search for the perfect holiday accommodation, and in this short article, we will do our best to outline the various amenities that you would find at a child-friendly resort.

  • Family suites – A family suite at the stunning Anantara Veli Maldives Resort would have everything a family needs, and some! A self-contained unit that gives you the independence you wouldn’t find in a hotel, so you eat when you feel like it and with a fully equipped kitchen, you can prepare the kid’s favourites.
  • Diverse range of kids' activities – Of course, there should be a children’s pool with a lifeguard on duty 24/7; slides and lots of floating toys would keep the youngsters engaged, while mum and dad chill out in the jacuzzi right next to the pool. There would be an in-house team of staff who are dedicated to making sure your kids are having a ball! Plus, there would be excursions for teenagers, with some challenging hikes and a whole host of guided water sports. If your son/daughter can’t swim, the staff will make it their mission to change that; being able to swim can literally save your life and there are techniques to encourage children who fear water to overcome this phobia and enjoy swimming.
  • Baby-sitting service –Mum and dad deserve romantic dinners on the beach and with a resident baby-sitting service, you can have some private time, knowing the kids are safe. You can easily book by calling reception, whether morning, afternoon or evenings and the staff are great with kids of all ages.
  • Convenience store – The last thing you want to do is get the kids togged up just to visit the nearest convenience store; an established child-friendly resort would have at least one store, where you will find whatever you need. Of course, the store would stock many different types of products, including skincare and personal hygiene products. If you are interested in sustainability, click here.
  • Safe grounds – There should be a perimeter fence or wall that controls access, while round-the-clock manned security would be standard. Unauthorised people would be challenged by security, so if you invite guests, they would need a pass from reception. It is comforting to know that everyone inside the facility is supposed to be there and that is the job of resident security.
  • Room service – There should be room service available, for those times when you don’t feel like cooking and the menu should include child portions. It is nice to enjoy a prepared brunch after a late night, while you can order healthy snacks for the kids while they watch an epic movie.
  • Live entertainment – A resident magician would keep the kids engaged with a series of amazing magic performances; talent contests challenge the children to compete in a range of disciplines, with a Mister and Miss pageant with cool prizes.
If you are thinking of making the Maldives your holiday destination in 2023, there are some great child-friendly resorts with everything on-site for an amazing time for the whole family.
