Business Daily Media (which means Business Daily Media and their associated companies) is committed to protecting your privacy when you use our on-line, telephone or other services ("Services").  In this policy we explain how and why we collect your information, what we do with it and what controls you have over our use of it.

By using any of the sites within our web site network ("Web Sites") or our Services, you unconditionally agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

What data do we collect and how do we use it?

Business Daily Media collects and processes information about you in order to:

(i) identify you each time you visit a Web Site or wish to have a Service provided;
(ii) process orders or applications submitted by you;
(iii) improve our Services and Web Sites
(iv) Customise your experience, for example, provide advertisements that we think are relevant to you and which support any specific requests for information you may make through keyword searches;
(v) carry out research on the demographics, interests and behaviour of all of our customers; and
(vi) send you information we think you may find useful, including information about new Business Daily Media products and services.

You may be asked, either when you register with us, or at other times, for information about yourself, such as your name, e-mail address, postal address and telephone number.  You may also be asked to share with us your interests, hobbies and preferences. In addition, when you order certain goods or services from our Web Sites, we will need to know your credit/payment card number and expiration date.

You are under no obligation to provide this information, but if you don't then we may not be able to provide you with certain services or personalise your experience and tailor our Services for you (for example, tell you about special offers on things you're interested in).

Log files/IP addresses

When you visit our Web Sites, we automatically log your IP address (the unique address which identifies your computer on the internet) which is automatically recognised by our web server.  We use IP addresses to help us administer our Web Sites and to collect broad demographic information for aggregate use.  We do not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information.

Non personal information

We may automatically collect non-personal information about you such as the type of internet browsers you use or the site from which you linked to our Web Sites.  You cannot be identified from this information and it is only used to assist us in providing an effective service on our Web Sites. We may from time to time supply the owners or operators of third party  sites from which it is possible to link to our Web Sites with information relating to the number of users linking to our Web Sites from their sites. You cannot be identified from this information.

Use of Cookies

Cookies are pieces of information that a Web Site transfers to your hard drive to store and sometimes track information about you.  Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can change your browser to prevent that.  However, you may not be able to take full advantage of a Web Site if you do so.  Cookies are specific to the server that created them and cannot be accessed by other servers, which means they cannot be used to track your movements around the web.  Although they do identify a user's computer, cookies do not personally identify customers or passwords.  Credit card information is not stored in cookies.

Security

Business Daily Media places a great importance on the security of all information associated with our customers. Where is the information stored?

Google AdWords and Google Remarketing

We use the online advertising program Google AdWords and the Google Remarketing technology, both operated by the company Google Inc. ("Google") .

For measuring conversion with Google AdWords, a conversion tracking cookie is placed when a user clicks on a News.International advertisement delivered by Google (“Ads”). Conversion tracking cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. Google uses a different cookie for each Google AdWords customer and there is no consolidation of the cookie data with other data. If you click on one of our Ads and proceed to a page equipped with a conversion tag and the cookie has not yet expired, the conversion is documented. When you click on one of our Ads, a Google Remarketing cookie is placed. This cookie helps to serve our Ads to you at a later time when you browse pages of the Google content network. Similar Technologies

In addition to cookies, we also use the following standard Internet technologies in connection with your use of the Platform:

  • Clear GIFs: We use “clear GIFs”, sometimes known as “web bugs”, which are small image files that we embed into our email newsletters. These clear GIFs tell us whether you opened the newsletter, clicked on any of the content or forwarded the newsletter to someone else. This provides us with useful information regarding the effectiveness of our email newsletters, which we can use to ensure that we are delivering information that is relevant to our users.

  • Flash cookies: We use Flash cookies to synchronise information between multiple News.International® players. This ensures that one player is stopped when another player starts. We do not use Flash cookies for the purposes of collecting any personal data, and do not use Flash cookies to respawn any cookies that you might previously have deleted.

  • HTML5 Local Storage: We use HTML5 local storage to store your default listening volume (i.e. the volume at which you prefer to hear sounds on News.International®) and, in the case of premium users, to set the widget control colour. If you access the mobile version of our website, we use HTML5 local storage to store certain cookie data, including your user plan, authentication data, your username and your display preferences. We do not use HTML5 local storage to collect any personal data or to track your activity on our websites.

  • Activity tracking: We work with Localytics, a service provided by Char Software, Inc ("Localytics") to collect usage data from our iOS and Android mobile apps in order to help us understand how users are interacting with our apps. Localytics is used to track activities within the app such as likes, follows and plays.   • Bug Reporting: We work with Crashlytics, Inc (“Crashlytics”) and Bit Stadium GmbH (“HockeyApp”) to report any bug affecting our iOS and Android mobile apps. HockeyApp’s software is built into our iOS app and Crashlytics' software is built into our Android app. If either app crashes during normal use, the app will send certain information about the incident to Crashlytics or HockeyApp as applicable. This information consists of the device type, OS version and certain hardware information about your mobile device, and the time of the crash, the state of the application at the time of the crash, and stack traces. The information does not include your IP address or any other information that could be used to identify you or your mobile device individually, and does not include any other information from your mobile device. Activity Tracking and Bug Reporting:

You can use the settings within our iOS device or within the Android app to opt-out of analytics tracking and bug reporting. For the opt-out, if you are using our iOS app, go to the settings of your iOS device and open the News.International® tab. With an Android device you need to open the News.International® app and open the basic settings tab within. From there you can simply disable analytics and/or bug reporting to stop any analytics data or bug reporting information being sent from the app.
